It’s a municipal election year and it’s also starting to look like we may be having a provincial election as well. There’s nothing like a community event and parade for the candidates and incumbents to put in some face time and remind everyone of who they are.
But the Beaches Lions Club, which puts on the annual Easter Parade along Queen Street in the Beaches, has decided that Easter Bunnies and politics just don’t mix and have banned all of the politicians, including our controversial mayor, from attending.
Here’s more on the issue in the latest Beach Metro News.
I have a family that would like to lease a home in Woodbine Park or in one of the neighbourhoods in the Kew Beach Public School district.
They need 3 or 4 bedrooms, parking with a garage and at least two bathrooms. They’re willing to pay up to $5,500 plus utilities.
If you know of someone who is thinking of leasing and want a great tenant, get in touch with me at 416 568 1242 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Sad news in Riverside. Regal Hardware, a fixture in the Riverside community at corner of Boulton and Queen (near Broadview) for 100 years, is closing. The retro hardware store, where the service is fantastic, just can’t compete with the big box stores like Home Depot and Canadian Tire.
Here’s a story that appeared in the Toronto Star today. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2014/04/01/regal_hardware_queen_east_fixture_goes_down_drain.html
